How are shipping containers delivered Worldwide?

Shipping containers are delivered across Europe by truck, or by a combination of rail and road for longer distances. Container Traders has built a nationwide network of local transporters to deliver shipping containers to homes, farms and businesses in every state and territory. Whether you’re in suburban Perth or remote Queensland, we handle the logistics so your shipping container arrives without the hassle.

This guide covers how our deliveries work, what they cost, and how to prepare your site before your container arrives.

Compare shipping container delivery options

Container K Plus GMBH delivers shipping containers via one of four truck types. Our container specialists will match you with the right option based on your site access and where you need the shipping container placed.

Tilt Tray delivery

The truck’s hydraulic tray tilts backward and the shipping container slides off the rear onto a flat surface as the truck drives forward. Most cost-effective when you have a clear, straight run in front of where the container needs to sit.

Containers supported 10ft/20ft/40ft
Height (driving) 4.6m
Height (unloading) 5m/6m
Length 20m/40m
Width 3.5m

A semi-trailer fitted with hydraulic swing-lift arms that grip the shipping container’s corner castings and lower it to the ground from the side. The standard method for 40ft shipping containers.

Height (driving) 4.6m
Height (unloading) 10m

HIAB delivery

A truck-mounted crane that lifts and places shipping containers over low fences, walls, and other obstacles that would block a tilt tray or side loader. The most expensive delivery method but the most flexible.

Height (driving) 4.6m

Semi-trailer delivery

A standard flatbed trailer with no self-unloading equipment. You provide the forklift or crane to lift the shipping container off the truck. Often the cheapest option per kilometre, but only works if you have unloading gear on-site.
